Yay!!! I can see snow on the mountain tops now. The thermometer had definitely taken a plunge in the recent days. Instead of going out and hopping in my car, I now see people around the neighbourhood scrapping away at frozen ice particles during the early morning commute to work. I could actually see the frowns on their face. Deprived from sleep and now scrapping away at frost in the cold winter air. Brrrrrr….nothing warms up the tummy with a fresh cup of hot chocolate and cookies.
Once they were baked, I used royal icing to decorate them and off course little M & M’s were bonuses. I also applied the flooding technique.
Keys in Royal Icing for Flooding:
-Dilute royal icing until you see the icing flow but not runny
-Pipe design borders and design with royal icing first and then flood
-Once the cookie was flooded let dry prior to adding additional decorations
While flooding takes time and patience the end result are beautiful cookies. Great for stocking stuffers!!!
